Hey there! I'm Alisar (she/her).

If you’ve ever found yourself standing at a personal crossroads, feeling like you carry stories with no safe place to share them, craving change with no idea where to start - you are not alone and I’m glad you’re here.
I invite you to the possibility that your past and present do not have to dictate your future.
My goal as a therapist is to create an accepting space for people to explore the pattens in their lives and find meaning in their experiences. As a queer and nerodivergent person myself, I understand the value of a nonjudgmental and welcoming space. So many people feel isolated by their worries, or grief, or the sense that their full truth would overwhelm those around them. Whether you’re a trauma survivor, LGBTQ+, multicultural, neurodivergent, or generally living outside of the role assigned to you, it can be hard to find a place where you feel understood. That is why I entered this field. Because I’ve been there.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Texas State in 2022. After graduating, I became a crisis counselor, working with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Trauma informed practice is at the core of the work I do. I am passionate about helping clients understand and free themselves from patterns that no longer serve them. I strive to infuse creativity into research-backed healing practices. I enjoy helping people revive a sense of play and curiosity in the face of adversity.
Practicing an eclectic style of therapy allows me to pull from many different modalities to create a tailored approach for each individual. In particular, I enjoy the IFS approach, as it promotes the idea that each person is born with the ability to heal and that all parts of you are welcome and deserving of care. I believe connection, expression, and rest are all forms of empowerment and resistance that are just as necessary as the hard work of change.
I believe we are so much more than our trauma. We deserve to find peace. It may be hard to imagine in a world with so much hurt, but change is possible. Not always easy - but possible. Your courage in coming this far does not go unnoticed. Through this work I have found that…
Hope often grows as flowers do, from lightless places. Is it your turn to grow?
